Join us for a festive evening creating folk art inspired ornaments! Explore the techniques of water etching, carving, and sculpting in this workshop, taught by Maryclaire Ferguson. Over the course of two hours, attendees will create up to four ornaments inspired by the holiday season and traditional folk art motifs. These handcrafted works of art are sure to make any tree dazzle!
Instructed by Maryclaire Ferguson
Arkansas native, Maryclaire Ferguson, discovered a love of ceramics during a Fifth Street Studio class in 2020. She is known for her surface decoration, with an emphasis on carving and freehand painting. Her work often includes floral and animal themes, inspired by folk art and children’s book illustrations. Ferguson joined the Fifth Street Studio team in 2023 as a tech, and more recently as an instructor. Her favorite part of working for a community studio is watching new students and members find their unique artistic voice.
*This workshop is open to ages 8+ *
*No experience necessary. items will be ready for pick up two week after the workshop*
