Dive into the world of ceramics and craft your own hand-built mug! Apart from wheel thrown pottery, hand building utilizes a different set of techniques allowing for a broad range of possibilities. As an introduction to the basics local artist Nelson Brown will guide you through the steps for forming a slab mug, adding a base, and attaching a handle. This workshop is a great way to skim the surface of the medium while producing something fun to use! Join us!

As a lakes and parks ranger native to Northwest Arkansas, it's no surprise that Nelson Brown draws inspiration from nature. An artist whose work materializes in the ceramic, music, print making, as well as  culinary spheres, Nelson’s work is informed by a complex context of personal flavors and unique experiences. He focuses on relating emotional momentum into functional forms, paying special attention to blurring the boundaries between measured, technical skill and the nature of organic forms.

*This workshop is open to ages 8+ *

*No experience necessary. items will be ready for pick up two week after the workshop*
