3-week Beginner-Intermediate Course
Wednesdays 6-8pm starting November 29th

Join us for our 'Slab Dinnerware Design' class, tailored for those with a grasp of ceramic handbuilding! Over three weeks, we'll dive into slab construction and plaster mold draping techniques, crafting durable dinnerware perfect for daily use. Embrace the creative design process when creating new forms from cereal bowls to lunch plates and pasta bowls.

For those familiar with ceramics, this class is an excellent opportunity to expand your skills and create personalized essentials. However, if you're new to handbuilding, keep in mind that embracing imperfections might be part of the journey due to the nature of this craft. Our guidance aims to support you through these challenges, but previous experience will help you navigate this process more comfortably.

To ensure ample time for perfecting your creations, you'll have access to the studio's open hours during the class week. Embrace this opportunity to refine your designs and develop pieces reflecting your unique style. Our instructor will assist you in crafting practical, personalized dishes that elevate daily moments. Join us for a fulfilling, hands-on experience where creativity meets functionality!

class instructed by Kaden Fitzgerald

Originally from Providence, RI, Kaden Fitzgerald discovered their passion for functional pottery during their studies at Collin College in Plano, TX. This initial spark led them to immerse themselves in on-the-job learning within prominent ceramics studios and production facilities across Northern California. Through this hands-on experience, Kaden honed their ceramic skills, refining their craft and broadening their artistic perspective. Now based in Bentonville, AR, Kaden serves as an Instructor and Studio Manager at Fifth Street Studio. Their mission extends beyond teaching, focusing on promoting ceramics accessibility in NW Arkansas through community engagement and artistic endeavors.

The class will meet weekly for 3 consecutive weeks beginning on the date listed. The wheel class includes 2hrs of group instruction per week, unlimited studio work time per week up until last class session, and access to all equipment and materials needed. 25 pounds of clay, all firing, and tools for class projects are provided in the class. *"SLIP HAPPENS" DISCLAIMER: While we strive to ensure the safe handling and firing of all class creations, due to the inherent nature of ceramics, unexpected breakage or damage may occur during any stage of the process. We'll make every effort to preserve your pieces, but please be aware that some pieces might not survive the kiln. Your participation acknowledges this possibility, and we appreciate your understanding in this creative journey.

We look forward to having you in! If you have any questions visit our FAQ here.
