class instructed by Maryclaire Ferguson

Arkansas native, Maryclaire Ferguson, discovered a love of ceramics during a Fifth Street Studio class in 2020. She is known for her surface decoration, with an emphasis on carving and freehand painting. Her work often includes floral and animal themes, inspired by folk art and children’s book illustrations. Ferguson joined the Fifth Street Studio team in 2023 as a tech, and more recently as an instructor. Her favorite part of working for a community studio is watching new students and members find their unique artistic voice.

The class will meet weekly for 3 consecutive weeks beginning on the date listed. The wheel class includes 2hrs of group instruction per week, unlimited studio work time per week up until last class session, and access to all equipment and materials needed. 25 pounds of clay, all firing, and tools for class projects are provided in the class. Additional clay is available for purchase.

*"SLIP HAPPENS" DISCLAIMER: While we strive to ensure the safe handling and firing of all class creations, due to the inherent nature of ceramics, unexpected breakage or damage may occur during any stage of the process. We'll make every effort to preserve your pieces, but please be aware that some pieces might not survive the kiln. Your participation acknowledges this possibility, and we appreciate your understanding in this creative journey.

We look forward to having you in! If you have any questions visit our FAQ here.

All tools and clay are provided for class, but if you wish to have your own tool set you may purchase it here.
