This is built for true beginners or those with some experience and will give students the foundational skills in throwing pottery and hand building!


Class begins Thursday, October 12th 

The class will meet weekly for 6 consecutive weeks beginning on the date listed. The wheel class includes 2hrs of group instruction per week, unlimited studio work time per week up until last class session, and access to all equipment and materials needed. Twelve pounds of clay, all firing, and tools for class projects are provided in the class. Additional clay is available for purchase. 

We will cover:

  • Hand wedging 
  • Centering on the wheel 
  • Throwing basic forms 
  • Coil building 
  • Pinch method 
  • How to glaze 

We will learn these foundations through four projects:

  • Pinch cups or mugs 
  • Coil built vases 
  • Thrown ring or trinket plates 
  • Thrown cups or vases

Students will be provided with:

  • A 12lb bag of clay 
  • All necessary tools 
  • Firing services 

We recommend bringing your own towels, rags, or aprons.
