Meet Serotonin Base: Hydrate and add Colorants to Mix your Very Own GLAZE

Learn the how to properly hydrate and mix glaze in this hands-on workshop! You'll create your own gallon of food-safe glaze using FIVE Glaze Serotonin Glossy base to use on future pottery projects. Under expert guidance, you'll learn professional techniques to properly hydrate materials and incorporate colorants for your desired colors.

Choose from our selection of colorants to customize your glaze, or keep it classic with a white or off white finish. You'll leave with a gallon of your own handmade glaze and a test tile to preview the fired results. Perfect for intermediate students looking to deepen their pottery knowledge or anyone interested in understanding the practical advantages to hydrating your own glaze.

Serotonin Glossy Opaque Base - Similar to our studio Toad and Frog glazes it has a beautiful gloss finish that shows variation in specks and flows of color when colorant is added. A great base for creating vibrant pinks, purples, blues, neutrals and greens. This base does not have a clear version, if you’re looking for our best clear base see Nova Glossy Base.

All materials and detailed instructions provided. Test tiles will be fired and ready for pickup in approximately two weeks.

Students will be provided with the following supplies to take home:

  • 1 Gallon Serotonin Base Glaze + colorants
  • 1 Gallon Plastic Bucket
  • N95 Dust Mask (rated for mixing dry chemicals)
  • Test tile for testing
  • Instruction sheet for hydrating glazes

Instructed by Ella Watson

All students must fill out a waiver to attend class. Waiver may be filled in advance HERE. 

*This workshop is open to ages 18+ as we are dealing with dry chemicals

*No experience necessary 

*Items are ready for pick up approximately 2 weeks from the workshop date. Students will be notified for pick up by email, please note our booking app confirmations often go to spam folders so please check spam for booking notifications and pick up emails.
